Welcome Guest!
Risk Management (RM) - RM within the U.S. Coast Guard changed on 5 March 2018 with the issuance of Commandant Instruction 3500.3A “Risk Management (RM)”; this instruction included the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Auxiliary’s response to comply with this instruction was detailed in BSX Policy Letter 19-01 of 1 February 2019 “Risk Management Training Requirements for the Coast Guard Auxiliary.” A copy of this letter is available for download from this website at the District Document Library www.cgaux9wr.com/members/document-library.php
Changes to the Coast Guard and Auxiliary RM programs expanded who in the Auxiliary must complete RM training. Enclosure #1 of the BSX Policy Letter referred to above, lists by Auxiliary Competency, who must to complete RM training. All Auxiliary members should review this table to determine if they must complete RM training and at what level.
Introduction to Risk Management - Coast Guard and Auxiliary Risk Management now includes two levels of training. One-time initial training is through an online course “Introduction to Risk Management” course #100202, which is available through two sources on the Auxiliary Website. First is the Online Classroom: Go to Online Classroom Courses, Training (Including Leadership), Introduction to Risk Management (can be done individually our used in at workshop). Second at the AUXLMS site, go to Course Catalog, Auxiliary, Auxiliary Operations, Introduction to Risk. Links to both of these sites can be found at: http://wow.uscgaux.info/content.php?unit=T-DEPT&category=risk-mgt .
Team Coordination Training - Or TCT is the second level of RM training and is done in a workshop setting with an authorized facilitator. TCT training is now an annual requirement vs. the previous every 5-years. TCT workshops can only be presented by an Authorized TCT Facilitator. Facilitators are trained active duty Coast Guard or Auxiliary members. Before an Auxiliarist can attend a TCT workshop they must complete the online Intro to Risk Management course.
To attend/schedule a TCT workshop requests should be routed through the FSO-MT, FSO-OP, SO-MT, or SO-OP respectively. The following is a list of Auxiliarists authorized to teach the TCT workshop.
