The USCG Auxiliary's Logistics Directorate is responsible for the planning and administration of Auxiliary programs that support the Prevention and Response Directorates, as well as programs that are responsible for the communication of accurate and timely information about the programs and activities of those Directorates to the membership and to the general public.
The USCG Auxiliary's Prevention Directorate is responsible for the planning and administration of the Auxiliary programs that support and augment the United States Coast Guard's Prevention Directorate. This support includes, but is not limited to, marine safety and environmental protection, port safety, vessel safety inspections, waterways management, and public education about environmental issues and water safety. This directorate also includes the program for training members to provide these services.
The response directorate is responsible for the planning and administration of auxiliary programs that support and augment the USCG response directorate. This support includes operations activities in boat crew training, safety patrols, search and rescue missions and other support missions for the active duty CG. Aviation assistance through Aux Air support of most operations programs. Communications support at CG stations with watchstanders and TCO's, with additional support in mobile, temporary radio communications sites. The directorate also includes support to the navigation services CG personnel with training of auxiliary inspectors for bridge inspections and aide verifiers for navigation aides.
