Members of the Ninth District Western Region routinely assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as:
In an average day, Auxiliarists nation-wide save 1 life, assist 56 people in distress, save $719,000 in property, educate 936 people about boating safety, perform 615 vessel safety checks, conduct 19 search and rescue missions, complete 100 safety patrols afloat, and participate in 120 operational support missions for the Coast Guard. Dubbed "America's Volunteer Lifesavers," Auxiliary members comprise about one-third of the Coast Guard's total manpower.
To remain Semper Paratus in our strategic support of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Ninth District Western Region will strive to perfect expertise and provide a dynamic flexibility within our organizational programs to meet today's needs and tomorrow's challenges while staying true to the Coast Guard's Core Values of:
Integrity is our standard. We demonstrate uncompromising ethical conduct and moral behavior in all of our personal actions. We are loyal and accountable to the public trust.
We value our diverse work force. We treat each other with fairness, dignity, and compassion. We encourage individual opportunity and growth. We encourage creativity through empowerment. We work as a team.
We are professionals, military and civilian, who seek responsibility, accept accountability, and are committed to the successful achievement of our organizational goals. We exist to serve. We serve with pride.
